Welcome to the homepage of 1089 Squadron. 1089 Sqn is part of the evergrowing family that is the Air Cadet Organisation. We are based in Shettleston, in the east end of Glasgow. We are part of Glasgow and West Scotland Wing, which in turn is part of Scotland and Northern Ireland Region. We are a volunatary organisation for young boys and girls aged between 13 and 20.

The principle aims of the Air Cadet Organisation are:

• To promote and encourage among young people a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force.
  
• To provide training which will be useful in the Services and civilian life.
  
• To foster the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship
